Pan & Zoom in Flash

Today we learnt about panning and zooming on flash, we started by getting an image of a street and changing the image size on photo shop, we then imported it into flash and got the rulers to shop and set the image so that it was just bigger than the ipod screen size, we then enlarged the image at the dile of 50 and created a classic tween, so when we finished the edit it seemed like the picture was being zoomed into and onto the clock , i enjoyed doing this it was great to learn and i feel it will be handy to know in future animations.
We then went on to do paning which is when the camera pans across the image we did this in a simular way that we did the first one , we clicked on 50 frames and moved the image across then clicked in them iddle and created an classic tween , this will also be very handy in my final animation this image below is the final products and images of what i used.

We also learnt how to make buttons, All you have to do is go on componants , then click on user interface then creat the button, you then have to change the name of the button and code in what you want it to do .

evaluation

My peice got off to a very shakey start i got really frustrated in trying to use flash and i didnt get it atall, but after a while i really got a hold of it and i began to peice together the little story of my boi pence, i created a story bord about him graffitiing walls and getting caught by the police but it ended up changing into something else just a simple story of pence rouming around a park being cheeky and taging up and vandalising things, i feel my final peice is very good an i am happy with it and how the story turned out i found it quite fun to do in thinking up little cheeky things that pence could do , i have use traditional methods and modern methods like photography and digital manipulation, i used photos that we took when we went to astor park and pence is a simple character i made up from a 2p coin hence the name pence, i feel pence can range from a manrketing peice to logos on keyrings and shirts i feel pence can go alot further than thisflash animation that i have put him in, from my animation you can alredy get and sence of his personality and what hes all about i feel this pence idea could go alot further than what i have done at college. i learn alot doing this assignment i feel i have the ability to use flash now and that i maybe able to do another story for pence and maybe progress it into somthings bigger than it is now.
Artists i looked at was simone the guy who created hello kitty and simular images like that , his work is very simular to my character pence so that simplistic idea is what i party bassed my character on. i developed my ideas at first i was going to have just a streight story with images and no animation but in the end i began to experiment with tweening and panning tools which helped give my peice more of a life to it.
as i said befor i am happy with my peice i feel using black and white back ground and only havign the grafitti in colour really helped to set a mood and to help things stand out . ways i could have changed my peice is to make my character more realistic to give it more of a life like look rather than a circle and a few lines , i think i may have been a bit to simple when it came to creating my character.
